Is it really private?
Yes. In on-device mode, transcription runs entirely on your Mac with an open-source model and nothing is uploaded. It works offline.
What exactly do I get for life?
Private, 100% on-device dictation on 1 Mac at a time, all app updates, and your Styles, Dictionary, and local history, for as long as Mutter is offered.
What is not included?
Cloud transcription, AI rewrite, and multilingual cloud features. You can add those anytime with the Cloud plan from $6.99/mo billed annually, and they stack on top of your lifetime license.
Does it work on Intel Macs?
The fully on-device private mode requires Apple Silicon and macOS 14 or later. Cloud mode runs on any Mac, Intel included.
Can I get a refund?
Yes, 14 days, no questions asked. Refunded seats are retired, not resold.
Is the license transferable?
No. It is one person, non-transferable, with self-serve device switching between your own Macs.
